Mr. Donohue expressed his strong belief that bu strengthening the U.S. Canada partnership and working together to boost competitiveness and prosperity, the two countries could meet these global challenges.

Mr. Donohue outlined four steps to strengthen the U.S.-Canada relationship and revive the global economy: 1) stimulate domestic demand, get credit flowing and repairing and revitalizing core industries; 2) repairing and reforming the financial markets; 3) fight protectionism and strengthening the global trading system; and 4) defend and advance the free enterprise system. He said that NAFTA nations must hold up the agreement as an example of what can be accomplished through free and fair trade.

The luncheon was a resounding success for AmCham Canada and provided a unique opportunity for the President & CEO of the U.S. Chamber to meet and engage with Canadian business people.
